Details: Enjoy Free kayak lessons for kids 12yrs and under, plus a free BBQ! Paddle Boards available for guardians with children under 5yrs. Please bring you own life jacket (PFD) for kids 5 and under. Space is limited. (LIMIT is 6 kids per time slot of 30mins). There are only 5 slots available. Depending on how many signs up, there could be extra time given. Your more than welcome to come early and stay later to enjoy the water and BBQ. One plate person registered. There is no cost, this is a free event. Time slots start at 1PM, 1:40, 2:20, BREAK, 3:40, 4:20

Must RSVP by sending a text to 503-877-8449. Everyone has to sign waivers, through Salem Kayak Rentals LLC/ Oregon Guided Kayak Tours LLC. Shannon is the Lic. Tour Guide and will be giving the lessons. She is owner of Both Salem Jumper Rentals and the kayaking biz. You can send her a message with more questions if needed.

There is no cost. However, everyone must reserve a spot to be given lessons and save a plate of BBQ food. Please commit before reserving. We will be meeting at the Wheatland Ferry from the West Salem side, along the river bar on the rocks. If you are coming from the Keizer side. You will need to take the Ferry over, it cost $ money to take the ferry. Everyone is expected to park on the river rocks, recommend everyone brings their own sun shade. This is like a beach setting. Bring chairs, shade, and sun block. There is not always guarantee bathrooms, usually they have a porta potty. Or you will have to take the ferry across and walk into the state park to go to their bathrooms. Its free to take the ferry if you walk on. Come prepared.

Guardians are expected to fully supervise your children while being at this event and apply sun screen as needed. Each participant is required to not be sick and be in good physical shape to be able to participate. Waivers need to be signed by the guardians by DocuSign from your email. Please text first and last name and your email. Please confirm you are the guardian or parent. Please confirm ages and names of children participating. Each child given lessons will be receiving a certificate of completion.

All outside events are weather permitted, along with river levels. Please make sure to RSVP and send a text to 503-877-8449 to complete reservations. So, you can be both emailed and text with current updates, in case there is any last-minute cancellations or changes in date or times.
