The difference between renting a sit on top kayak and a sit inside kayak.
*(SOT) We highly recommend (sit on top) for newbies, kids, moving river water class 0-2 and lakes. Sit on top kayaks are self rescue and do not sink. They are more durable and easier to climb out. By swinging your legs over into the water to stand up at launch. Lots of space and storage for dry bags.
*(Sit inside) Kayaks, are great for slow moving waters and lakes. We carry wider kayaks for individuals that are over 6ft and over 200 pounds for more durability.
*(Paddle Boards) are recommended for sharing with a child by renting a seat, so you can paddle sitting down with child in front. Makes it safer for child to slide back onto paddle board and avoid tipping over. The paddle board is lowest to the water surface then a kayak. Please paddle with pump and close to shore inside lakes with children. Avoid rivers with small kids and (no paddle boards on rivers).
Watch our safety tip videos and do not drag kayaks across ground. It can create holes. Do not pull yourself up on the kayak ramp at the riverfront. The pull force will snap the paddles in half and you are responsible for replacing lost or damaged equipment.
