DETAILS: (Please read through) The Clackamas River is one of the more exciting and FUN kayak paddle.  No more then class 2 water. Level Easy and for beginners. (Only sit on top kayaks are allowed to participate.) Plan to get plenty wet. Even go for a swim for a couple of out two 15-25 min pit stops and a 30min break at Carver Park for lunch. Everyone is responsible for their own sack lunch, dry bags, clothing/ shoes that can get wet.

This is our annual first day of summer paddle for 18yrs and older. We make a day out of it, since we have to count traveling time, breaks etc. So plan to spend all day on this excursion. This trip gets filled quickly.

This is a (kayak community base event for anyone with their own kayak or need to rent one). If you need a rental, text 503-877-8449 for availbility. This is a discounted excursion since its a community event. You save $175 and only spend $60 for this trip. If you are a Salem Kayak Club member and need to rent a sit on top kayak it is $30, we would need to confirm you are a club member. If you need a shuttle (ride) from Salem. It is $30 per person. I only have (6) available spots.

We launch from (Barton Park in Boring) to take out at (RiverSide Park in Clackamas). You will need to park your car at Riverside by 9:30AM, and Uber or shuttle with another person from Riverside Park in Clackamas, to Barton Park 22mins up the road to meet the others by 10:00AM. We launch by 10:30AM sharp. (Its best everyone has their cars at take out). so you can avoid paying parking fees at Barton and go straight home. I will not be shuttling anyone back to Barton. (Life Vest must be worn by everyone).

ATTN KAYAK RENTALS: For safety purposes, must be no more then 240 pounds, and not taller then 6'1" and will be on a (Sit On Top) kayak. Life vest must be worn entire time.

There is always at least one person who goes for a swim. It happens, and usally is fun and a nice cool off from the summer heat. So be prepared. If you listen to all the tips and follow (Guide Shannon) can offer. You lessen your chance of falling in. Rule of thumb, everyone is behind each other, not side by side going down rapids, must follow safety instructions by (Guide Shannon). Everyones participation is very critical for everyones safety. NO ALCOHOL. Must pack a lunch and water, drinks. Change of clothes in dry bag if needed. Hat and sunscreen. (DON'T FORGET YOUR DRY BAG and CLIPS). If its not clipped onto the kayak. Then you will loose it.
